Nazca lines
Centuries ago, deserts, hills and mountains in the Pacific coast of South America were covered by an extensive network of drawings, lines and geometric shapes, figures of mammals, insects and deities. Nazca lines opened in 1927, and are a most extraordinary legacy left by the culture that flourished 2, 000 years ago.
With the advancement of science we are able to learn more about ancient civilizations that may have created the Nazca lines and other mysterious figures.
The world learned for the first time of the Ica stones in the early 60's. A local farmer said that he found piles of rocks deep in the bowels of a cave near a small desert town Ica, located on the Pacific coast of Peru near the plateau Nazca.
Myan Civilization - Chichen Itza
One of the ancient lost civilization existed in the world is the Maya civilization. The ancient Maya once occupied a vast geographic area in Central America. The Maya Civilization—also called the Mayan civilization—is the general name archaeologists have given to several independent, loosely affiliated city states who shared a cultural heritage in terms of language, customs, dress, artistic style and material culture.
Copán was once a Classic Maya royal center, the largest site in the southeastern part of the Maya area.
The Mayans were a highly advanced civilization that made many predictions, including is interpreted as an end of the world prophesy.
Chichen Itza - The most famous, spectacular, and, consequently, most frequently visited place in Mexico.
Aztecs
The Aztec Empire was stretched on the vast territory to the north central part of Mexico, the East, the Gulf of Mexico, Guatemala and west to the Pacific coast. The capital, Tenochtitlan was one of the largest cities in the world at that time.
The culture of Aztec is complex and their language, legends and traditions and today have a huge impact on lifestyle and culture of Mexico today. Tenochtitlan fell in 1521 after a three-month siege of the troops Cortes.
Inca Civilization - Machu Picchu
The ruins of Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by the archaeologist Hiram Bingham, are one of the most beautiful and mystic ancient places in the world. While the Inca people certainly used the Andean mountain top, erecting many hundreds of stone structures from the early 1400's, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time.
Incas were specialists in opening the skull to heal injuries. In very sixth skull currently studied by scientists there is a hole and most operated on recovered without major complications.
One of Machu Picchu's primary functions was that of astronomical observatory. The Intihuatana stone has been shown to be a precise indicator of the date of the two equinoxes and other significant celestial periods.
